How to Join Jacob’s Beta 1.7.3 Server

To connect to Jacob’s Beta 1.7.3 Minecraft server, you’ll need to fix the old version, since Mojang’s old login servers are no longer available.


Option 1 — Using Betacraft Launcher

Step 1 — Download Betacraft

Go to the official site: https://betacraft.uk/
Click Download Launcher and choose your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux).

Step 2 — Install & Open Betacraft

Run the downloaded launcher file.
Note: Betacraft runs separately from your normal Minecraft launcher.

Step 3 — Select Minecraft Version

  • Open the launcher.
  • Click the Version Selector dropdown.
  • Choose Beta 1.7.3.

Step 4 — Login

  • Click Log In.
  • A small window appears with a link and a login code.
  • Open the link in your web browser and enter the code provided (e.g., X1YZ-9ABC).
  • Sign in with your Microsoft account.
  • The launcher will confirm once you are successfully signed in.

Step 5 — Add the Server

  • Launch the game.
  • Go to Multiplayer → Add Server.
  • Enter:
    Server Address: server.jacobvanwie.org

Step 6 — Receive Approval

Guests may be promoted to Members once trusted by other players.

Step 7 — Explore & Commands

  • /spawn → Return to spawn
  • /sethome → Set a home location
  • /home → Teleport to your home
  • /info → Server basics
  • /tpa <player> → Request teleport
  • /tpaccept → Accept teleport requests
  • /tpdeny → Deny teleport requests
  • /info → View server info

Option 2 — Using Standard Minecraft Launcher

Step 1 — Create a New Installation

  • Open Minecraft Launcher → Settings → Minecraft: Java Edition Settings.
    • Turn On: Show historical versions of Minecraft: Java Edition in the Launcher
  • Select Minecraft: Java Edition → Installations → New Installation.
  • Select old_beta b1.7.3 from the Version dropdown.

Step 2 — Add JVM Arguments

  • Go to More Options → JVM Arguments.
  • Add the following to the beginning of the line:
  • Leave the rest of the arguments as default.
  • Press Install and Launch the Game

Step 3 — Add the Server

  • Go to Multiplayer → Add Server.
  • Enter:
    Server Address: server.jacobvanwie.org

Step 4 — Receive Approval

Guests may be promoted to Members once trusted by other players.

Step 5 — Explore & Commands

  • /spawn → Return to spawn
  • /sethome → Set a home location
  • /home → Teleport to your home
  • /info → Server basics
  • /tpa <player> → Request teleport
  • /tpaccept → Accept teleport requests
